If a Good Book, Song, or Movie Can Change a Person's Life...Why Not A Video Game?
After all, games are the sum total of every modern entertainment element...AND players get to have an interactive experience. However, they aren’t currently used, let alone viewed, by the general public as having the same capacity for change that a book, song, or movie can. The main categories of games right now are:
- Cinematic AAA Titles - recreation
- Addictive Social Games - recreation
- Massive Multiplayer Online Games - recreation
- Educational Titles - successful with kids, but will never stick like a "Halo" will
- Gamified Products - using game elements in a non-game product
The irony of games that have a cause outside of recreational waste is that they lack the very elements that make a game great - STORY, MUSIC, CHARACTERS, GAMEPLAY, ENVIRONMENTS, and IMMERSION. Often, these products are seeking the effects of games (engagement, addiction, community, etc.), but forgo the real appeal. Project Recreate is the first answer to this gap. We leverage the attributes that make a game epic and memorable to achieve a positive outcome for our players.
Our first product - Project Recreate - uses the proven science of personality assessment in tandem with an immersive adventure RPG. Users get to explore a lush 3D environment, enjoy a deep story set in a dystopic post-apocalypic world, engage in action gameplay AND learn about their personality. Their decisions and individual personality attributes will affect their in-game experience, story, and character.
The future of video games deserves more than addictive entertainment and bland gamification. Individuals and organizations need an engaging medium to break through the noise of our age. Our future products will solve both of these problems. They will be tools for "re-creation" of the world around us and the world within us.
We're reCreate, inc and we're recreating recreation.
